This is a fan concept of axehounds from Brandon Sanderson’s novel Stormlight Archive.

Since axehound is Roshar’s equivalent to domestic dogs, I really want to make some designs that echoes the wide variety of dog shape and sizes we have on Earth. Just like dogs, some axehound breeds will have been created for work, like the guard dog. Some will have been created for their owner’s vanity. Some will have been created for companionship.

I want to make sure my axehound designs look like the alien creatures they are, while still evoking the a friendly feel. Most importantly, I hope people will look at my axehound design, and be able to imagine themselves doing all the things we do with our beloved dog companions - picking them up and rough housing with them, cuddling and hugging, rubbing noses, stroking them in their laps, rubbing their faces vigorously, and playing fetch in a park.
